Actor Jon Voight publicly criticized his daughter Angelina Jolie for her remarks about Israel’s response to the recent conflict with Hamas, stating that her comments were misleading and based on false information.
Voight, a well-known conservative voice in Hollywood, defended the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) actions, emphasizing the need for protection in response to the October 7 Hamas terror attacks that killed over 1,400 people, most of them civilians.
In an Instagram video, Voight, 84, expressed disappointment over Jolie’s anti-Israel posts, indicating that she lacked understanding of the broader context surrounding the conflict.
Jolie, a former UN special envoy, condemned Israel’s response, accusing the IDF of targeting civilians, including women and children. Voight countered by saying that Jolie failed to see that Hamas aims to annihilate the Jewish state.
Voight strongly supported Israel’s right to defend itself, describing the conflict as a struggle between good and evil, with Hamas attempting to destroy Jewish heritage and culture. He criticized Jolie’s stance, highlighting the sacrifices made by Israel’s people in the face of terror attacks.
