Zahara Jolie-Pitt has grown up mainly outside the media spotlight as the first girl adopted by Hollywood icons Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Now, at 19 years old, many people are curious about how Zahara’s life has unfolded since her adoption.

Zahara was born on January 8, 2005, in Awassa, Ethiopia, but has Nigerian roots. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopted Zahara when she was just six months old, joining two brothers, Maddox and Pax Thien. This marked the couple’s first adoption of a girl.

Initially, Jolie believed Zahara was an orphan with AIDS, based on information from the girl’s grandmother. However, after Jolie took care of Zahara and conducted medical tests, it was revealed that this wasn’t true.

Zahara’s grandmother also shared that her biological mother had passed away due to illness, but in 2017, the British Daily Mail published an interview contradicting this information.

In the interview, Zahara’s biological mother stated that she was not sick but gave her daughter to an orphanage because Zahara had an unexpected birth.

She added that Angelina Jolie became more of a mother to Zahara than she was, acknowledging Jolie’s role in her daughter’s life.

Despite this, she expressed her desire to see and contact Zahara again, denying that her daughter ever had AIDS.

Angelina Jolie has always been open about her love for Zahara, stating that she’s learned much from her adopted daughter. Jolie often brought Zahara to movie sets, demonstrating her commitment to her children.

Zahara grew up with Jolie’s unconditional love and frequently accompanied her mother to public events and red carpets.

Zahara’s presence in the media has become more frequent as she’s matured. Recently, Zahara and Angelina Jolie were photographed meeting with President Pro Tempore of the US Senate, Patrick Leahy.

In the photo, Jolie looks on with pride as Zahara engages in conversation, highlighting the young woman’s confidence and poise. Although Zahara doesn’t fit conventional beauty standards, she stands out with her sense of style and self-assuredness.

At a film launch, Zahara wore a dress her mother had worn to the Oscars in 2014, showing her unique fashion sense and connection to her mother. Following Angelina Jolie’s Brad Pitt divorce, Zahara continues living with her adoptive mother.

Jolie proudly described Zahara as an “extraordinary African girl” in a Harper’s Bazaar interview with climate activist Vanessa Nakate, emphasizing her respect and admiration for her daughter.
