Paws Show, an animal rescue organization, received a distress call from a train station worker about a dog taking refuge under a bridge at the station.

Observers said the dog had been there for about three days, appearing to be in poor health. The rescue team, despite being over 100 kilometers away, promptly made the two-hour journey to assist.

When the team arrived, they discovered a sorrowful scene. The dog, a beautiful Husky, had been hit by a train and was in critical condition.

“He was in a lot of pain and unlikely to survive without immediate help,” a team member shared. Determined to save him, they rushed the dog to a veterinarian.

Upon examination, the situation proved dire. The Husky, whom they named Vova, had suffered a spinal fracture.

More alarmingly, an ultrasound revealed a life-threatening condition known as intussusception, where part of the intestine telescopes into an adjacent segment and can lead to death if not treated swiftly.

On the second day after discovering Vova’s condition, the team was on edge when he vomited twice. “I was really frightened,” a concerned rescuer expressed, fearing that their new friend might not pull through.

However, with persistent care, hope began to blossom. Twenty days into his treatment, Vova was receiving physical therapy three times every week, and while still very fragile, he was starting to regain some strength.

Fast forward about three months, and Vova had learned to navigate the world with the help of a wheelchair. His initial confusion and uncertainty were replaced by newfound comfort and resilience.

Each step he took reaffirmed the rescue team’s belief that “nothing is more precious than life.” Vova was, effectively, starting anew.

Thanks to the dedication of everyone involved, Vova’s future now holds promise. The team expressed their gratitude, acknowledging those who contributed to his recovery, and rejoiced in knowing that he now has a second chance at life.
