In Southern California, Suzette Hall, a dedicated dog rescuer, has encountered countless challenging situations. She’s devoted her time to saving abandoned dogs, nursing injured pups, and finding homes for them. Despite her extensive experience, she continues to face heart-wrenching cases that leave her astonished.

One recent case involved a call about a tiny dog abandoned in a parking lot near a construction site. Initially, Hall thought it would be a typical rescue mission, yet it quickly became apparent that this was a unique and complicated situation.

When Hall arrived at the scene, she was met with a heart-rending sight. The little dog, now named Bethany, had been living in the parking lot, frequently traveling through a small hole in a fence to reach a nearby trailer park.

In a social media post, Hall shared, “Poor baby found a little hole in a fence between a mobile home park and a new construction site. That hole led to a small traveling space that would end up inside the mobile homes.”

Bethany’s life in the park was bittersweet. She had befriended other dogs and spent her days playing with them. However, unlike her friends who went home at the end of the day, Bethany returned to the parking lot, alone and without shelter or comfort. “They all had homes to go to but she didn’t,” Hall commented.

Recognizing Bethany’s plight, Hall decided to take action. Understanding the dog’s fear of humans, she set a humane trap in the parking lot and patiently waited. “She was so scared of people and would run if you got close. I set a trap and waited and waited,” Hall explained.

Initially, her attempts were unsuccessful, as Bethany would get frightened and run away each time she neared the trap. However, Hall’s persistence paid off when she placed the trap closer to one of the trailers. After several hours, Bethany was finally caught, and Hall could begin the process of finding her a new home.

As Hall and her team prepared Bethany for a foster home, they received an unexpected update. It turns out Bethany had not been abandoned; she had escaped and was missing for two months. Someone had found her and relocated her to the parking lot, but her original owner never stopped searching. Hall was thrilled to reunite Bethany, now called Bebe, with her rightful owner.

In a touching reunion, Bebe was finally back with her loving family. Hall reflected on the joyous outcome as she wrote, “Someone had definitely found her and relocated her. Her mama never gave up, and yesterday…We reunited Bebe with her mama. It was just another miracle.”

Now safely at home, Bebe is beaming with happiness, surrounded by love and care. After two months of uncertainty, she has found her way back to where she belongs—home.
