During an interview with Ethan Alter from Yahoo Entertainment while promoting her latest project, “Asteroid City,” Johansson delved into the enduring mystery surrounding Murray’s whispered words to her character, Charlotte, at the movie’s conclusion.

Johansson reacted with surprise, acknowledging the profundity of the interpretation but stopped short of confirming its accuracy, humorously grading it a “B minus.”

Reflecting on the film’s themes and portrayal of an unconventional friendship between an older man and a younger woman, Alter asked Johansson whether such a story could be told in the same manner today.

Johansson expressed her belief in the timeless nature of the film’s central relationship, emphasizing the characters’ profound impact on each other.
