The rescue team arrived swiftly, taking about 15 minutes to reach the remote location using a snowmobile due to the challenging terrain.

Upon arrival, rescuer Ivan Berezhnov noticed the dog’s peculiar behavior and decided to investigate further by tracing the sled’s path. As Berezhnov recounted, “We discovered the man face down on the ice just 400 meters from shore.”

The victim, a 53-year-old man, was immediately given first aid. It was discovered he had suffered paralysis on one side of his body, symptoms consistent with an ischemic stroke.

Berezhnov, drawing on his medical knowledge and experience in critical care, quickly understood the gravity of the situation.

The dog, fiercely loyal, refused to be separated from its owner. Berezhnov, respecting this bond, advised the victim’s family to come collect the dog along with the man’s fishing equipment.

He reassured them the hunting dog was unlikely to get lost. Thanks to its vigilance, the man was found in time, offering him a chance at recovery.
